Computer Stolen From State Revenue Office
PC May Hold Sensitive Personal Information

MAITLAND, Fla. -- A computer possibly containing sensitive personal information was the only item stolen in a break-in at a state Department of Revenue office in Maitland, police said.

Maitland police said a brick was used to smash a window at the state office, located on Maitland Center Parkway, at about 2:30 a.m. Monday.

It is not yet known what information the computer held.

Police said the incident is part of a growing trend in the area.

"Between our area and south Seminole County, we've had some other break-ins to businesses that have been smash-and-grabs -- they throw something through the window and grab whatever they can and leave as quickly as possible," Maitland police Lt. Jeff Harris said.

There was no surveillance video of the incident, Maitland police said.
