Most of electronics stolen from Nixa school recovered
News-Leader staff • February 24, 2009
Most of the laptop computers and other electronics totaling roughly $3,000 that were swiped from a Nixa school over the weekend have been recovered, Nixa School District spokesman Zac Rantz said.
The computers and electronics were stolen between noon and 3 p.m. Sunday from Main Street School after someone left a door unlocked, Rantz said.
Rantz said the school is investigating why the door was left unlocked or who may have done it. He did not say which door left open, but said it was not the front door.
He said all but about $300 of the stolen items have been recovered, but could not say where they were found because of the continuing investigation.
Three juvenile suspects from Nixa have been identified and authorities are looking for a fourth, Rantz said.
