Computers, money stolen from nonprofit camp for grieving children
Published: March 13, 2009
A thief or thieves broke into the offices of Camp Comfort Zone last night, stealing several thousand dollars worth of cash and valuables, as well as two laptops.
Employees of the nonprofit, which runs camps for children who have suffered the death of a parent, sibling or care-giver, discovered the break-in when they arrived at work today on Cutshaw Avenue in Henrico County.
The laptops did not contain personal information about campers, staff, or volunteers.
Two weekend camp sessions, one in Virginia and one in New Jersey, will begin this evening as scheduled, spokeswoman Stacey Ricks said.
