Burglars hit homes all over Athens

Thieves made off with laptop computers and jewelry from several different neighborhoods during the weekend, including:
► The 400 block of Barnett Shoals Road, where a University of Georgia student reported thieves broke a bedroom window at The Woodlands apartments between 3 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Sunday and stole jewelry, four laptop computers and an iPod with a total value of more than $8,500.
► The 300 block of Marlborough Downs Road in Bogart, where burglars kicked in the back door of a home between 3 p.m. Saturday and 2:20 p.m. Sunday and stole a safe, laptop computer, cash and jewelry with a total value of more than $4,000.
► The 2300 block of West Broad Street, where a man reported that thieves pried open the sliding glass doors of his apartment in the Park at West Broad between 2:30 and 7 a.m. Sunday and stole a laptop computer , a PlayStation, a GPS system, DVDs, video games, a curl bar and a sword with a total value of more than $1,900, Athens-Clarke police said.
