Cops nab 2 in computer thefts from Furness High
Police arrested two suspects yesterday in connection with the theft of 40 laptops from Horace Howard Furness High School on Sunday.
Investigators said that they are still searching for several other thieves who stole the Apple MacBooks, worth a combined $120,000.
The two suspects currently behind bars, whose names were not released, were not cooperating with police.
Investigators said that they believe that Sunday's incident might be part of a larger pattern of thefts of computers from Philadelphia schools.
Police said that the stolen MacBooks are white and feature a serial number decal, red anti-theft warning and a City of Philadelphia property sticker.
Anyone who has been approached about buying one of the laptops is asked to call South Detectives at 215-686-3013 or -3014. *
