Teen charged in theft of two computers
Nearly four months after two computers were reported stolen from Gateway Apartments, College Station police have made an arrest in the case.
A 17-year-old from College Station who was arrested on the theft charge was released from jail Tuesday after posting $2,000 bail.
Police believe the teen is responsible for taking two computers from the computer lab at the complex, where he did not live, but admitted visiting often for access to the fitness center and computers, according to a police report.
The computers were found at the home of the teen's relative, who told officers the teen wouldn't say where he had gotten the equipment.
The teen told officers he bought the two computers from a man for $60, according to the police report.
If convicted of the class B misdemeanor, the teen could get up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
