Two computer thieves nabbed

IMPHAL, April 6: Two thieves who stole a computer set from the Government High School, Lairikyengbam Leikai were nabbed by locals and handed over to the police.
The two persons were identified as Yumkham Dhanaraj alias Naobi, 19, son of Y Singh Kumar of Lairikyengbam Salam Leikai and Waribam Ibomcha alias Jackson, 20, son of W Rabei Singh of Lairikyengbam Salam Leirak.
Regarding the incident locals told the media that the computer set was stolen when the chowkidar of the school was having food. One of the persons identified as Jackson was caught while he came back to collect his identity card from the computer room, by the son of the chowkidar. The identity card was a fake one of the department of youth affairs and sports identifying him as a hockey player.
After questioning Jackson revealed that Dhanaraj was also involved. Mention may be made that Yumkham Dhanaraj came out of jail one month back after he was detained under the NSA regarding the bomb blast at Videocon House last year.
The two accused revealed they had stolen the computer set and kept it mortgaged at Rs. 500 with a person from Ipum Khongban. They had also bought two strips of Spasmo Proxivon (SP) tablets.
