Attempted theft at school
AUSTINTOWN — A township teen was caught taking an Apple computer tower from the old Austintown Middle School, police said.
Police arrived at the former middle school on Mahoning Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Monday to find a 15-year-old male behind the old football stadium with the equipment in his possession.
The boy told police he had entered the building by removing screws to a door on the north side of the school.
The boy was released to his mother and advised that a charge of breaking and entering could be filed once the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center reviews the case.
