School's laptop computers stolen

Thousands of pounds worth of laptop computers have been stolen from a secondary school in Surrey.

The burglars scaled a perimeter fence and smashed a classroom window at the school in Leatherhead shortly after 2300 BST last Tuesday.

They then broke into an office where the computers were stored and fled with 22 laptop computers, which were worth a total of more than £9,000.

Police have not named the school amid fears it could be targeted further.

The stolen laptops were 21 new Dell Vostro 1510s and a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300.

Sgt Simon Cox said most of the computers had been intended for the pupils and the loss had been 'a real blow to the school'.
