A Bray Street man saw two burglars run from his house when he returned home about 1:20 a.m. Friday, Athens-Clarke police said.
The burglars kicked open a front door and stole a handgun, ammunition, a laptop computer and cell phone charger, valued together at $1,600, police said.
In other break-ins:
► Thieves entered a Whitehall Road home between 8 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Thursday and stole two computers, four firearms and two watches, with a total value of more than $2,000, police said.
► A computer and monitor valued at $1,300 were stolen between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday during a burglary at a home on Big Oak Circle, police said.
