Men escape following stolen car crash

Two men escaped from a stolen car which crashed in West Reading following a police helicopter search.

The incident took place on Wednesday in Portman Road. Thames Valley Police spokesman David Paull explained the collision took place at 1.30pm and involved a white Skoda and a black Honda.

He said: “The occupants of the Honda, two black men, fled the scene. Officers carried out a search of the area, assisted by the force helicopter, but were unable to find them.

“The Honda had been stolen from outside an address in Hardwick Road, Tilehurst, between 10pm on Tuesday and 7.30am on Wednesday.

“Offenders gained entry through the front door and stole some computers and some sets of car keys. They have then taken the car from outside.”
