School computer stolen
Published Date: 11 June 2009
A school in Somerset is appealing for the return of a stolen laptop and a digital camera.
The raid on St Joseph's, in Burnham-on-Sea, has led police to step up security advice to other schools.Sgt Ian Kennett said: "I would ask for anyone who lives near to local schools to keep their eyes open and report anything suspicious.
"It is a shame for young people to have their school equipment stolen. I would like to seek the support of the community to stop this from happening again."
Officers have carried out house to house inquiries and are working with schools in the region to increase security.
Anyone who is offered a black Toshiba laptop for sale is asked to contact Burnham-on-Sea police on 0845 456 7000 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
