Business ransacked, computers stolen

LAWRENCE — Burglars smashed their way into a Broadway business, ransacked two offices and stole two computers and a monitor, police said.
F. Michael Jiminez, owner of the Broadway Professional Center at 237 Broadway, told Officer Michael Colantuoni the office was last used on Saturday about 11 a.m.
He told Colantuoni the business has an alarm system, but police received no alarm calls from the business during the weekend.
The burglars kicked in two wooden office doors and took two Compaq computers and an Acer flat-screen monitor. The outside security grate had been pulled down but left unlocked, police said.
Jiminez was advised to check with the alarm company about the security coverage.
The break-in was reported Monday at 8:30 a.m., police said.
