More Laptop Computers Missing In Reading School District


More computer problems in the Reading School District. 69 News learned Monday that 36 more laptop computers are missing at Reading High School. Those are in addition to the 50 that are still missing from the EXCEL School on South Sixth Street and the dozens that were lost in a fire.

That fire destroyed a school district storage facility on Tulpehocken Street last week, leading to a loss of about $2.5-million. The district says 11 of the 36 laptops were stolen over three years and have been reported to police. The district is looking into the whereabouts of the other 25.

The reports of the missing laptops comes during an investigation of the school district by the FBI, the Pennsylvania Attorney General, and the Berks County District Attorney. They're reportedly looking into a possible misuse of district money.
