Google worker accused of stealing computers

Mountain View police arrested one of Google's kitchen employees last week on charges of stealing computers after the young man was allegedly caught in the act by a surveillance camera. The 19-year-old male suspect, who was contracted to work in Google's kitchen as a dishwasher, stole five laptops worth a total of about $8,500, according to a police detective close to the case. Google alerted police after employees noticed the laptops were missing; by watching video footage, the employees were able to identify the suspect. The suspect, whose name was withheld, was arrested and charged with burglary on Wednesday, July 22.
