MICHIGAN COMPUTERS STOLEN The News Herald: Breaking news coverage for Southgate, MI:
Business break-in, computers stolen
TRENTON — Computers and monitors were stolen over the weekend during a break-in at Trenton Forging Co., 5523 Hoover.
The operations manager notified police at about 6 a.m. Monday that someone had broken into the plant’s office over the weekend and stolen the equipment.
The two west-side front doors to the office were not locked and they usually are, the manager said.
The back office area, where the stolen computers were, was in disarray, with papers and notebooks scattered on the floor and desk top. Also, cable wires were unplugged and lying on the floor, police said.
It appeared that two chairs were used to wheel the computers through the office and down the hallway toward the back east-side loading dock doors, police said.
The computers, which were valued at $1,000 each, were leased to the company.
