NEW?GLASGOW – The theft of a laptop and LCD projector will force Ward One Recreation Centre to change the way it offers its recreational programming this summer, says New Glasgow Police.
Some time overnight Tuesday, thieves broke into the Brother Street rec centre and stole the computer equipment, which is used as part of the centre’s summer programming.
“It’s a big loss for the centre,” said Const. Ken MacDonald with New Glasgow police. “It’s a crucial part of their recreational programming and now they don’t have it.”
Police are calling on the public to help them solve the crime.
“It’s of the utmost importance that the suspects return the items or that if anyone knows anything, they contact us at New Glasgow Police or Crimestoppers,” he said.
It’s still not known if additional items were taken during the break-in, MacDonald added.
“They’re looking into the possibility of other missing items.”
Ward One Rec Centre is the site of some of the town’s summer program, where kids can participate in a variety of daily activities, including physical activities and games.
