Kampala — Police are investigating a case in which thugs broke into the offices of the Uganda Human Rights Commission at Buganda Road in Kampala on Tuesday and attempted to steal computers and official documents.
According to Police, thugs entered the office of the tribunal registry, where all complaints are kept and attempted to steal laptops but they were intercepted by the guard who shot at them and they fled.
Speaking to Daily Monitor on Tuesday, the Police Spokesperson, Ms Judith Nabakooba, said: "We have obtained finger prints at the scene which will help us in our investigations especially when the thugs are arrested."
Police recovered a laptop computer which the thugs abandoned at the premises while escaping.
Last month, thugs broke into the offices of the Director of Public Prosecution and stole laptop computers and documents with records of high-profile cases, among them Global Fund files.
