Phillips County Commissioners reported at their July 31 meeting the Phillips County landfill office was broken into Tuesday night, July 28.
Offenders cut the lock on the main gate and used a rock to break the office window. Commissioners noted the office was turned upside down and devastated. Sheriff Rob Urbach investigated the break-in.
Stolen goods amounted to $1,200 worth of equipment including computers, adding machines and a television/VCR combo. There was also evidence a rock was used to try to break into the safe.
Commissioners reported the county will buy new computers to replace the stolen equipment.
