Computer thefts being investigated

THREE computer thefts have happened in Chelmsford - two of which may be linked.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information regarding the incidents.
Between 6pm on July 3 and 9.30am on July 4, unknown suspects forced a door to gain entry to secure premises in Broomfield Business Centre in Broomfield Road causing an estimated £100 of damage, and stole two Apple computers with an estimated total value of £2,000.
Also during the same time burglars forced a door to gain entry to a premises in Broomfield Road, causing an estimated £100 of damage, and stole five laptop computers, telephone equipment and fans, with an estimated total value of around £2,600.
The investigating officer is PC Ewan Smith for both thefts. These are believed to be linked.
Overnight on July 13 entry was forced to an office at Anglia Ruskin University, Bishop Hall Lane, and one laptop computer stolen.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about these crimes to contact Chelmsford station on 0300 3334444, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
