More than a dozen computers have been stolen from California State University, Los Angeles, sparking concerns over possible identity theft.

Officials say on Aug. 1 someone broke a window in the office of the university's Minority Opportunities in Research program and stole 14computers, two desktops and 12 laptops.

The computers contain the names, social security numbers and addresses of more than 600 students and faculty members.

Campus officials say those affected were notified last Monday, and were told to watch out for possible identity theft. They say most of the students whose personal information was stored on the stolen computers are no longer students at Cal State Los Angeles.

f you have any information about the theft, you're asked to call LAPD detectives at (323) 342-8900.

If you have questions about your personal information, CSULA has set up a toll-free hotline -- (800) 883-4029.

University officials say the break-in is under investigation.
