An Ontario County man was arrested this week after a neighbor tracked a stolen wireless router to the man’s home.
Shane A. Yack, 31, of Farmington was charged Tuesday with second-degree burglary, a felony, New York State Police announced today.
Yack is accused of breaking into his neighbor’s trailer in late May 2009 and stealing a computer tower and a wireless router. Last week, the victim was able to access the router and called State Police. Troopers and members of the State PoliceComputer Crime Unit detected the stolen router’s signal, which led them to Yack’s residence. There, they located Yack and the stolen property, troopers said.
Yack was arraigned in Farmington Town Court and was remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to answer the charges in court at a later date.
