Windsor police investigate U of W theft

WINDSOR, Ont. -- Windsor police are investigating a University of Windsor computer theft.
A laptop computer was reported stolen from the University Bookstore on July 17.
A man was caught on video through the store’s surveillance system on July 13, when the original theft took place.
The suspect had a black backpack and was talking on a cellphone when he entered the store at 3:30 p.m.
He took the cardboard box that contained the laptop, went down to the store’s basement, cut the box open and put the computer in his backpack before leaving the store.
The suspect is described as a white male, five foot 11 in height with a medium build.
He was wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt, a necklace, white running shoes, a white baseball hat, sunglasses and blue shorts.
Police are asking that anyone with information call 519-255-6700, ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477.
