Commercial burglary arrest and recovery of stolen property

Description: Case No. 09-08-1119

On Aug. 26 at 7:19 a.m., the Tehachapi Police Department investigated a burglary to a business in the 200 block of E. H Street.
Someone had broken into the warehouse overnight and stolen several items, including a laptop computer, desktop computer, computer monitors and power tools.

Later that day, based upon information discovered by the victim, TPD officers went to a residence in the 200 block of E. F Street. After obtaining consent to search the residence, officers discovered several of the items that had been stolen in the burglary.
Officers were able to recover a laptop computer, a desktop computer, two computer monitors and a digital camera—all of which were returned to the victim.

A male adult living at the F Street residence was taken into custody at the scene. An additional male adult is still being sought in connection with the case. Items still missing from the burglary include a Radio Shack cordless telephone, a Motorola two-way radio, a yellow DeWalt grinder, and a turquoise Makita drill.

Arrestee: Jaime Augustine Sanchez-Mendoza, 23, Tehachapi, Booked into Kern County Jail.
Charges: Possession of Stolen Property.
