DENVER -- Five people were arrested and four people, including a police officer, were injured during a large disturbance in Colorado Springs early Sunday morning.
KRDO reported neighbors said as many as 50 people were involved in the disturbance reportedly over an alleged stolen computer.
Police from three different substations were called to a cul-de-sac on Powder Keg Place around 2 a.m. and found a large crowd involved in "an active disturbance."
As soon as police arrived, the crowd began to leave in a hurry. Police said one car intentionally swerved and ran over an officer's foot, also injuring his hand. He was treated at a local hospital.
Two other people were taken to the hospital, but police did not give details about their injuries.
Five people were arrested on charges of assault, drug possession and for outstanding warrants, police said. Three vehicles were impounded.
No names have been released.
Investigators are still determining how many people were involved in the disturbance and deciding if further arrests are necessary.
K-9 units and the police helicopter were called to help break up the disturbance.
