Citizens in Watertown are being alerted to a surging outbreak of recent daytime home burglaries in which one or more perpetrators steals small electronics, spare change containers, booze and even vehicles.
In two of the incidents, according to the Carver County Sheriff's Office, the stolen vehicles were used to haul away the loot. They were later recovered.
The Sheriff's Office added:
There have been two witness accounts from the seven burglaries, running from mid-September to early October. One suspect is described as a white man, early 20s, clean-shaven, short light-colored hair, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, a "very thin" build and wearing a baseball cap, long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. One victim also described the suspect as appearing "scruffy."
In another instance, two suspects were seen removing items from one of the stolen vehicles. The witness described a male and a female in this account.
Items stolen include IPods, MP3 players, banks or change jars, and alcohol. Computers were taken in two of the burglaries, a Wii gaming system in one and a camcorder in another.
Anyone with information about these cases is urged to call the Sheriff's Office at 911 or 952-361-1212.
