A case has been registered against an unidentified accused who stole two computers from Meenatai Thackeray Hospital in Nerul.
The stolen computers amounted to around Rs 20,000. According to police, construction is going on at the hospital for which scaffolding was built. The unidentified accused climbed the scaffolding to the second floor from where he stole the computers. "The theft happened in the night due to which nobody might have noticed the accused. The theft came to light the next day after the hospital authorities saw the computers missing. There are chances that somebody from the hospital might also be involved in the theft. Our investigations are on," an official from Nerul Police Station said on condition of anonymity. The case has been registered under sections 454, 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
