Computers taken from truck stolen from East Baltimore

2:57 p.m. EDTNovember 3, 2010
Nearly 1,700 computers were stolen from a tractor-trailer in East Baltimore, according to a police spokesman.
The tractor-trailer was stolen from Eagle Systems in the 500 block of North Dean Street on Oct. 13, said Detective Kevin Brown, a Baltimore Police spokesman. The tractor was found in the 7400 block of East Biddle St. in Rosedale the next day, he said.
The trailer was recovered at the Maryland House service area off Interstate 95 in Harford County on Oct. 22. However, its cargo of 1,660 HP laptop computers was missing, Brown said. The computers, worth $855,000, were destined for a Walmart distribution center, he said.
Investigators have exhausted some initial leads and have now turned to the public for help, the spokesman said. Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call the Baltimore Regional Auto Theft Task Force at 410-887-6247.
