BALTIMORE — The operators of a Christian academy say former students are suspected in the theft of computers and sound equipment from the Baltimore school.
Seventeen 17 new desktop computers had been set up two weeks earlier and the thieves seemed to know exactly where the most valuable items were during the weekend break-in.
Lamont Matthews, president of Purpose & Potential Christian Arts Academy, his wife, Patricia, and their three daughters run the school attended mostly by children from low-income families.
Bridgette Matthews said the thieves were able to take the computers, which were bought with an $8,460 state grant, but left a $2,000 electric piano after dragging it into a hallway.
