Police raid houses in laptop search

RAIDS were carried out across the city to try to find computers stolen from a Worcester primary school - but found nothing.
Fifteen officers searched four addresses in Worcester at the same time yesterday in connection with the theft of 18 lap-tops during a burglary at Perrywood Primary and Nursery School, Ronkswood.
Three men were caught on CCTV taking 12 black Acers and six silvery-grey Toshibas from the school in St Albans Close at 3.59am on Monday, November 1.
But police found nothing and arrested no one as a result of the searches, on Crickley Drive, Randwick Drive and Shap Drive, Warndon, and Liverpool Road, Ronkswood, “We believe that some of the computers have already been sold on so there are people out there who must know that they now possess stolen property,” said Detective Inspector Jim Fox, who is heading the investigation.
“The criminals who stole the computers, the people who handle them immediately afterwards and those who buy them should know that we are determined to find them and bring them to justice.”
Police continue to ask the public to contact them on 0300 333 3000 - quoting 75S/011110 - if they are offered computers from unusual sources. Information can also be given, anonymously, to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
