College is hit by burglars
Two men were captured on CCTV forcing open the door into a room in the Hawthorns department and stealing a number of Apple Mac computers.
Vice principal Terry Coleing said the college will use the surveillance footage to catch the criminals, who broke in on November 3.
He said: "We very much regret this equipment being stolen. Fortunately our CCTV cameras captured good-quality images of the people who broke in.
"The police are investigating, and hopefully our security measures mean they will be able to arrest and charge these thieves. The Macs are being replaced straight away."
The burglary came just days before the college was officially renamed K College after merging with South Kent College.
Kent Police are hoping to make arrests based on the surveillance videos.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police is investigating a burglary that happened at West Kent College, Brook Street, Tonbridge, between 7.40 and 8.20pm on November 3.
"Two white males, both around 5ft 8in tall were recorded on CCTV breaking into a room in West Kent College off Brook Street.
"It is believed a number of computers have been taken."
This is not the only setback the college has had this year. In May, the entire campus was closed for a day when an electrician working on the rebuild was severely burned in a fire on the construction site.
The incident is still under investigation by the Health and Safety Executive.
