Brookline police investigate computer thefts at Baker School

Brookline - Police are investigating the thefts of 21 computers that were reported stolen last week from the Baker School.

According to Brookline Police spokesman Officer Ronnie McNeil, aBaker School vice principal contacted police last week after discovering 16 Apple laptop computers, as well as five Apple desktop units, were taken sometime between Jan. 14 and Jan. 18.

McNeil said there was no sign of forced entry into the building, and the doors were locked and the building alarm was activated. Police are reviewing records for the alarm system and staff keycard use, he said.

The South Brookline school enrolls 712 students in kindergarten through grade 8, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The Brookline TAB has contacted the Baker School for comment
