Police Recover Stolen School Computers

DETROIT -- Two people have been arrested after Detroit police said they've found more than a dozen of computers that had been stolen from an area school early Wednesday morning.

Police said security cameras were rolling as desktops, televisions, DVD players and printers were stolen from the Life Empowerment Academy in northwest Detroit.

Police said the school's director recognized one of the thieves as a possible current or former student.

"We were able to identify him through some physical features that we were able to pick up from the tape," said Detroit Police Inspector Gary Sroka.

Sroka said investigators were led to a house just blocks from the school, where they arrested a 20 year old and 21 year old. He said two guns were also found inside the house.

"It's a significant recovery for them. All they're worried about is getting their equipment back and we're going to get it back to them as fast as we can," Sroka said.
