Computers stolen in school robbery.
Lake Macquarie police are searching for two teenagers who broke into the Glendale Technology High school this morning and stole computer equipment.
The thieves broke into classrooms and the school administration block at around 2 am, stealing laptops and other equipment.
Police say windows were also smashed and rooms were ransacked.
Four police cars went to the scene and officers found the two teenagers inside the school's administration building.
Duty officer Inspector Bruce McGregor says the pair managed to elude police but the stolen items have been recovered.
"Police chased them on foot but unfortunately the offenders got away, however police did locate a bag of computer property that was taken from the school."
Inspector McGregor says the equipment will be forensically examined.
"We're going to have our forensic officers examine the crime scene today with the property that was located. So we're hopeful we can establish a lead from that." He said
"We would also appreciate any information that the public may have about this matter."
"I anyone had seen any suspicious activity around about that time of the morning with two young males on foot in a hurry. I understand that they were wearing hoodies"
