Gerardo Issac Tapia, 22, and Ariel Cruz Ramirez, 25, were arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, resisting arrest, possessing burglary tools and possessing stolen property, police reported Sunday.
Tapia was standing beside the building when police pulled up about 5 a.m., Sgt. Brian Ridgway said. He took off running, but an officer caught him as he prepared to jump a fence at the back of the property, Ridgway said. Tapia had stolen items inside his pockets, Ridgway said.
As the officer returned to the building and was looking at the equipment staged outside, he spotted Ramirez hiding in some bushes, Ridgway said.
Ramirez was arrested without incident.
Investigators determined the pair had gotten into the business through a venting fan mounted on the side of the building.
Police asked anyone with information to call the anonymous tip line at 768-3544 or the Investigations Bureau at 768-3352.
