Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said 18 Dell laptops were stolen from inside the clinic. Staff at DSI said the computers did not have any patient information stored on them, so their personal information is not at risk.

After being closed for an initial police investigation, the clinic re-opened and patients were able to receive treatment. The clinic is using paper charts to manually do the work they would normally do on the computers. Twelve patients missed their appointments Wednesday morning and are being rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon or Thursday, according to DSI staff. They said it is essential the patients make it back into the clinic, as missing as few as a couple of appointments can have deadly consequences.

DSI did not have an alarm system. IMPD is investigating.
