The Elkin Police Department is investigating the theft of 11 computers and software worth about $4,500 in one case and the theft of four catalytic converters worth about $2,400 in another.
At Elkin High School
The computers were stolen from Elkin High School on Elk Spur Street between Jan. 1 and Feb. 1.
Elkin Officer Kevin Ray Hall said school officials reported that one desk top computer, three laptops and seven netbooks were stolen while portions of the high school weren’t secure due to construction being under way at the school.
Hall said the school installed video surveillance but it didn’t produce any leads.
