UK COMPUTERS STOLEN http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/where/tunbridgewells/Hospital-broken-second-time-2011/article-3235666-detail/article.html

Hospital is broken into for second time in 2011

THE Kent and Sussex Hospital has been burgled for the second time this year – despite bosses promising to step up security.
Three computers and 230 hearing aids were stolen from the audiology department last weekend.
This break-in follows the theft of computer equipment containing patients' information from outpatients in January.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said the most recent incident did not involve any confidential information.

Paul Bryden from the trust said: "Two of the PCs were used by admin staff, the third was used to programme the hearing aids.
"There was no confidential information on them as the PCs worked from the shared drive."
Mr Bryden added: "We are carrying out a full security review of the Kent and Sussex site."
In October 2008, the Courier revealed Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust suffered 794 "security breaches" since the start of 2000. These included losing a memory stick with patients' details in a supermarket car park and break-ins at hospitals.
Police are investigating the incident and asked anyone with information to contact them on 01732 379217 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
