Guard arrested for computer theft on Maio19 March 2011

A security guard at Maio high school was questioned this Friday in the case of the theft of a computer and an overhead projector from the school he was supposed to protect.

According to an A Semana Online source, the 45-year-old guard was arrested and taken before a Maio district court judge for an initial hearing Friday morning, accused of the theft of the computer and the overhead projector. He is also suspected in the theft of several computers and other materials from the school on March 14.

The guard was arrested Thursday when the school’s assistant administrative director found him in his office at approximately 11:00 pm and called police. The guard had apparently managed to open the door to the office by picking the lock.
