from PU centre
PATNA: For the first time in recent history, as many as nine computer terminals and a LCD projector were stolen from Patna University (PU) Computer Centre in the wee hours on Friday. The centre is located in the main building of PU office.
Centre in-charge K P Singh said that when the students of PG diploma course in computer applications turned up to attend their class on Friday morning, they found the lock of the centre along with the grill broken and some computer terminals missing. PU proctor immediately lodged an FIR with the Pirbahore police. Police officials immediately reached the centre and inspected it. One Subodh, a peon of the centre, was taken into custody for detailed interrogation, said Singh.
It may be mentioned here that no guards are deployed at the university office during the night hours to ensure safety of the property. Earlier, some private guards were hired by the university for this purpose, but their services were done away with.
