The owner of a closed Kia dealership on Atlantic Avenue reported Friday that someone had broken into the yard and building and stole 13 semiautomatic rifles, six semiautomatic pistols, a rifle, a shotgun, a revolver, 85 computers, a forklift, auto parts, various pieces of auto shop equipment, office equipment and two leather couches.

In all, the thieves’ haul at Premier Kia at 9401 Atlantic Blvd. was nearly $200,000, dealership owner Sam Kazran reported to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Dealership employee Eric Khazravan told police that items from the dealership have been sold at auction in recent months. He said there was an auction Feb. 19 attended by 150 to 200 people.

Khazraven said the auctioneers were the only ones besides he and Kazran who had a key to the building. Police reported there were signs of forced entry at the perimeter of the property, but not to the building itself. Cases of ammunition for the stolen weapons were not taken, Khazraven told police.
