A burglar stole two computers from a vacant house in northeast Des Moines sometime in the past week.

Police were called to 3107 Bowdoin St. to investigate a break-in at a house that the victim was no longer living in. Johnathon David Veach, 35, owns the house, but told police that he only stores possessions there. Veach had not been to the house since Monday, police records said.

Police found a broken windowpane in the rear of the house. A neighbor said he heard a noise coming from Veach’s house Thursday night, but did not see anything.

The stolen computers had a combined value of $1,200. Several expired credit cards and a Michael Jordan wall plaque were also taken from the residence, according to the report.
