Hamtramck Police Search For Escaped Juvenile Prisoner

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. -- Hamtramck police said a 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday, but he escaped custody in the city's Grand Haven neighborhood.Police said Tevin Brooks stole two laptop computers from a house Tuesday in that neighborhood. Brooks was arrested when he returned to the house Wednesday and homeowners called police. They said he was trying to break into to the house, police said.Local News HeadlinesAfter Brooks was arrested, police said he was escorted to the house where he stole the items. The stolen computers were returned, police said.However, when the officer and Brooks arrived at the house, the teen entered ahead of the officer, police said. The officer said she heard Brooks talking to someone else inside the house before the door slammed and Brooks fled out the back of the house, escaping the officer, police said.Brooks was described as black, 15 years old, wearing a brown jacket, light-colored jeans and white Nike shoes with light blue trimming.
