Juveniles charged in burglary

LAKE WALES -- Polk County Sheriff's deputies have arrested two juveniles in connection with a series of burglaries at Bok Academy and Warner University.
In the early morning hours of April 9, 2011, several buildings at Bok Academy and Warner University were burglarized.
Sheriff's Office reports state that unknown persons smashed numerous items, broke windows, and attempted to pry open a safe and a vending machine, causing approximately $10,000 in damage to both educational institutions.
During the crime spree, several laptop and tablet computers were stolen from Bok Academy.
The two schools are located across from each other on U.S. 27, south of Lake Wales near Babson Park and Frostproof.
After investigation, detectives identified two juvenile suspects, a 15 year old from Frostproof and a 17 year old from Lake Wales.
The 17 year old was arrested on Thursday, April 14; the 15 year old on Friday, April 15.
According to the Sheriff's Office, both teenagers have extensive criminal histories. The 17 year old, reports said, was being monitored with an electronic GPS ankle monitor.
They were both charged with three counts of burglary to a structure, four counts of burglary to a structure with damage, grand theft, petit theft, and violation of probation.
