Thieves Steal Computers from High School

ATLANTA, Ga. - Atlanta police say they believe thieves rigged four doors at a local high school in order to break in and steal computers. They say two or three suspect broke into North Atlanta High School overnight.

Investigators say five Apple laptops were stolen from a media room inside the school, and they think it could be an inside job. They say the suspects got in through a door that was unlocked after someone stuffed paper inside the latch so it wouldn’t lock. Officers think it’s possible that one of the suspects or someone they know may be inside the school during the day, and may have helped them.

The alarm did sound, but when police arrived on the scene, the burglars had already left the building. Police are combing through surveillance video to try and identify the suspects, who were wearing masks.

Officers say the suspects wasted no time getting inside, and they seemed to know where they were going. Because they were wearing masks, investigators believe they were aware of the security cameras.
