IT firm staff held for stealing computers

HYDERABAD: Two administrative officers and three contract employees of Brigade India Private Limited, a software firm, at Nanakramguda were arrested for stealing computers and other valuables from the firm.
The theft took place on Jan 2.Two administrative officers, 33-year-old Devarakonda Franklin Moses of BHEL and 25-year-old G Seshagiri Rao of Beeramguda, used to maintain company stores of the firm. They hatched a plan and stole 11 computers and other valuables from the office."While they were loading the computers into an auto and about to leave the place, three contract employees employed in the firm noticed them. The administrative officers requested the trio not to disclose the theft to any one and in turn asked them to take a share of the stolen property," Cyberabad commissioner of police Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao told reporters today.The contract employees -- B Ramesh, an electrician in the firm and resident of Shaikpet, A Satyanarayana, a programmer from Vijayanagar colony and K Prasad of Ramachandrapuram, agreed to the proposal and Ramesh took an i-pod while Prasad took away a DVD player and Satyanarayana took a computer with him.The remaining stolen property was concealed in the house of Moses.Raidurg police, who investigated the case, nabbed the five accused and recovered the stolen computers and other all worth Rs 5.30 lakh.
