Three schools broken into

Several teenage boys are facing charges after computers were stolen from three northwest Winnipeg elementary schools.
The thieves smashed windows and then took items like computers and even a gaming system from the schools — Shaughnessy Park, Stanley Knowles and Garden Grove — early Saturday.
When police were called to the scene of the second incident at Stanley Knowles School, a canine unit led officers to Garden Grove School at 2340 Burrows Ave., which had just been broken into.
The canine unit continued tracking, and after a lengthy search, all four male suspects were found hiding in different spots throughout the area, police said.
Some of the stolen electronics have been recovered, a police spokeswoman said Monday, though perhaps the bigger problem is the cost of repairing the busted property.
“The damage is equal or parallel to the amount of the stolen (property),” said Const. Natalie Aitken.
The four suspects, all 16 years old, will be charged with three counts of break and enter, police said. One of the youths will also be charged with failing to comply with a court order.
The boys have been released from custody to appear in court at a later date.
