Computers were allegedly stolen from the PCC Faculty Association office as well as from the office of its President, Roger Marheine over spring break.

Marheine was upset to learn about the theft. "In both cases a 'master key' was used, as there was no sign of forced entry. Thus, apparently, the thief has access to PCC offices," he said.

According to Marheine, all FA members' names and addresses were on the computer. However, no vital information, such as social security numbers, were stored on its hard drive.

All FA credit union bank accounts were immediately checked, Marheine said. "All accounts are safe, in order, and protected," he said. "This was a petty and futile act," Marheine added.

Marheine suspects that someone is attempting to sabotage the recent union efforts.

"We just signed off on the best contract in a decade, so we're curious why someone would want to confront the union," said Marheine. "There is the saying that you get attacked for doing the right thing," he added.

Police are currently investigating the incident, said Lt. Brad Young of the PCC Police Department.

"The case has been assigned to one of our officers and is currently ongoing," said Young. "At this stage there are a lot of interviews that are occurring," he added.

Anyone with information regarding these thefts is urged to contact the PCCFA office at 585-7261 and the Campus Police at 585-7484.
