Police Blotter June 2: Burglars Steal Computers at Two Locations
A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.
The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Burglary
Burglars broke into the NorthShore University Health System Research Institute on the 1000 block of University Place between 6:30 p.m. on May 31 and 7:20 a.m. on June 1 and stole two silver Dell laptop computers, one valued at $400 and the other at $1,800. There was no sign of forced entry.
Burglars made off with a dark brown $450 14-inch Asus laptop computer and a white $350 Lenova notebook computer between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on May 31 from an apartment on the 800 block of Hinman Avenue. There was no sign of forced entry to the apartment, and the tenant thought he had locked the door.
