Investigators said there was no sign of forced entry. The thieves took a jar of money for a candy fund, petty cash and two computers.
The Rev. Lee Hovel said he wasn't angry about the theft, just disappointed. He said he had a message for the thief.
"If you need help, we're here in the morning. Please come and see me and we will be happy to help you," he said. "We want to be a congregation that cares for our community, so we know there's a lot of hurting people in our community. Come and see us and help us resource your need."
Police asked anyone with information about the case to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

MISSION, Kan. -- Police said they're looking for whoever broke into a Mission church overnight and stole money and computers.
